Jon Mikel Euba’s presentation in Sala Rekalde, Bilbao was preceded by a monthlong ‘lock-in’ at the Centro Cívico San Francisco. During this lock-in art students from the Fine Arts Faculty of the University of the Basque Country and other young artists from Bilbao worked with Euba on organising documentation materials of his performance RE:Horse as well as reconsidering and analysing the artistic strategies of the performance.
This project addressed fundamental aspects of performance, representation and identity. This long-term, multifaceted performance found new ‘extensions’ in Bilbao and engaged with diverse collaborators, evoking manifold interpretations and readings. The participants that took part in the lock-in experiment included Oier Iruretagoiena Arregi, Marion Cruza Le Bihan, Alex de las Heras Carballo, Daniel Llaria Gaspar, Natalia Vegas Moreno, Eva Nerea, Angela Palacios, Ion Macareno Ramos, Elena Aitzkoa Reinoso, Mar Torre, Teresa Robles Urdiales and Miren Elisabeth Varona.
