    2. The Hamburg-based radio group LIGNA was invited to If I Can’t Dance to develop a series of Radio Ballets. LIGNA introduced the audience in Festival a/d Werf to the concept and theory behind their use of radio as a catalyst for action and a medium for political mobilisation. What they suggest is interesting and unique about radio, is that through its very nature of dispersion it allows for a both a collective and an individual experience. Their presentation took the form of a lecture performance where each member of the audience was given a small radio. As the lecture progressed, the audience listened live to LIGNA, but was also invited to tune into the radio station that transmitted a Radio Ballet there and then.
