For the February session, the workshop will start with a new lecture by
Jon Mikel Euba entitled
How to become a filter (out of the mind, out of the body that considers the use of what he terms “external appendices” to create non analytical and non discursive processes for producing art. The lecture will be live translated from Spanish to English.
The workshop will continue with a collective reading of an existing text by Euba on setting, followed by the group using the text as a tool for a practical exercise. For the practical exercise the group will be asked to work in pairs and to apply the text’s decalogue of questions to a project of their own – be it a new work, one in progress, or a past work they considered failed for some reason. By doing so, the exercise hopes to generate practical conclusions that allow each participant to advance and develop their project in question.
