    2. Come down to If I Can’t Dance Thursday 13 March at 9pm for ‘Office Service’, an evening of drinks and literary morsels taking a behind-the-scenes look at the characters of work, both on and off stage.

If I Can’t Dance office After Hours:
Large rectangular surfaces decompose and relax into multiple, small affections called tables. Keyboards and chords become napkins, mouse-pads become table-clothes, and servers assume limbs to facilitate a lubricated digestion of the day left behind.

The evening is held as the fourth Emma’s session in which Gerry Bibby presents, (with compliments from the kitchen) an intermediate course in the development of his new book of fiction ‘The Drumhead’.

Full table service will be provided and visitors are encouraged to bring a passage of prose or poems in which your favorite characters roll up their sleeves, punch-in, log-on, take a smoke-break or otherwise dance against the rhythms of the daily grind.

This presentation is one of several gatherings with the artists of Edition V – Appropriation and Dedication (2013-2014), including Snejanka Mihaylova, Emily Roysdon and Sara van der Heide. For these occasions If I Can’t Dance’s Offices are dubbed Emma’s, in honour of Emma Goldman, whose inspirational words gave our organization its name.

The project is undertaken as part of a commission of new work by Gerry Bibby initiated by If I Can’t Dance, I Don’t Want To Be Part Of Your Revolution in partnership with Kunsthaus Bregenz, CCA Glasgow, and The Showroom, with the support of the Mondriaan Fund, Arts Council England, Outset and Bloomberg. With thanks to Biennale de Lyon and Frieze Art Fair. The project has also been assisted by the Australian Government through the Australia Council for the Arts, its arts funding and advisory body.
