    2. On 7 July 2018, If I Can’t Dance will host an Open Reading Group exploring collective study as a bodily practice as part of our ongoing inquiry into the research field 'Social Movement'. The session will be led by the artist Myriam Lefkowitz and is titled The Book Club: A Space For Collective Study and Experimentation.

With The Book Club, Myriam Lefkowitz aims to explore forms of collective reading to address the body as a space of understanding. Through proposing a series of actions and gestures, the workshop will question the distinction between body and mind, theory and practice, looking for ways to relate concepts with sensations, affects, perceptions, images, memories, objects, rhythms and space as resources to unfold news modes of reading. The Book Club was conceived in collaboration with philosopher Cécile Lavergne and will be co-led by artist Théo Robin Langlois.

The Open Reading Group will commence at 12pm at the entrance to Vondelpark, from there we will follow a bike ride to a cabin in the Amsterdamse Bos. Participants will receive a detailed programme upon registration. To sign up please contact Anik Fournier: af@ificantdance.org

This session is the second Open Reading Group of Edition VII. You can read the summary of the first gathering that took place on 17 January 2018 here.
