Price: Admission included in exhibition ticket

On Saturday 30 April, as part of the performance programme Sunrise Sunset, Naufus Ramírez-Figueroa will present The Print of Sleep (2016). This performance was recently made for If I Can’t Dance’s Introductory Event to Edition VI – Event and Duration (2015–2016), and as the second part of Ramírez-Figueroa’s Corpus commission in which he is developing a cycle of new performances that attempt to exhaust his interest in the Guatemalan Civil War as the recurring subject of his work, and which will unfold across punctuated moments throughout 2016. 

In The Print of Sleep, Ramírez-Figueroa does this by creating a meditative, dreamlike scene that combines printmaking, varied human surfaces and bedtime rituals. The work will be presented at the conclusion of Sunrise Sunset, with the programme unfolding across a 12-hour rhythm within KW Institute’s various venues—including its exhibition space, courtyard and adjoining house—and to the natural changes of light, which will lay shadows across and spotlight different stage-like settings throughout the day.  

Sunrise Sunset includes performances by Anna Barham, Auto Italia, Lawrence Lek, Emily Roysdon, and others to be announced, and is curated by Catherine Wood and Adela Yawitz.
