    2. In his installation called Scumbags & Cie Holmqvist pays homage to the artist Yayoi Kusama by re-making certain elements of her spectacular visceral installations. He installs on plinths certain fetish-like objects for example Black Kusama Shoes and a bag called Black Kusama Refugee Bag. It connotes her distinctive style but is rendered by his own hand. He accompanies the installation with a large print called Joke Painting; and a photocopy edition called Sex and Drugs. The installation is presented as part of If I Can’t Dance’s exhibition Feminist Legacies and Potentials in Contemporary Art Practice at de Appel arts centre.
