    2. In May, curator Bart van der Heide is invited to give his response to the students’ prototypes of works for the exhibition in September. More information to follow soon.

Bart van der Heide is currently director of the Kunstverein München. He programmed exhibitions at Stedelijk Museum Bureau Amsterdam, Witte de With, Rotterdam and Cubitt Gallery London, featuring solo-debuts by artists such as Bernadette Corporation, Keren Cytter, Ian Kiaer, Tobias Madison, Tris Vonna Michell, Cathy Wilkes and Haegue Yang. Substantial texts by Van der Heide are published on Heimo Zobernig (Tate, London, 2008), Haegue Yang (Portikus, Frankfurt, 2008), Keren Cytter (Kunsthaus Zürich, 2008; MUMOK, Vienna, 2007) and Ryan Gander (ABN-Amro Collection, Amsterdam, 2006).

Curating Academy is a yearlong course offered to second-year students of the Dutch Art Institute, that is taught by Grant Watson and Frédérique Bergholtz and coordinated by Tanja Baudoin. The course looks into methodologies of curating and closely studies examples from the practice of tutors and guests. The project will work towards making an exhibition for September 2013, with a contribution by each student. In monthly meetings, tutors and guests will unpack the nature of the ‘graduation exhibition’ and explore ways of working and presenting together.
