If I Can't Dance will be the focus of a one-evening programme to be held Friday March 7 within the
Bibby/Blightman Weekend, organised by KUB Arena (Bregenz). The programme of talks, screenings, readings and performative presentations is held as a moment of public research and event-making within the ongoing exhibition of commissioned works by
Gerry Bibby and Juliette Blightman.
Director, Frédérique Bergholtz and curator Vivian Ziherl will discuss the unique commissioning structure of If I Can't Dance, facilitated by Scott Cameron Weaver as part of KUB Arena's ongoing focus on
new exhibition formats for unique encounters with contemporary art.
Gerry Bibby, one of the four artists within Edition V - Appropriation and Dedication, will read aloud fragments of a manuscript in development during his residency at KUB Arena. The event will be the first public presentation of the text that will culminate in a new work of fiction, the first publication to arise from Bibby's long-term written practice.
Other guests of the Bibby/Blightman Weekend, 7-9 March at Kunsthaus Bregenz, include David Bussel, Karl Holmqvist, Juliette Blightman, James Benning and Julian Göthe.
