    1. Hito Steyerl is one of five artists commissioned by If I Can’t Dance to make a new work as part of Edition IV – Affect (2010–2012). Hito Steyerl is a filmmaker and writer. She teaches New Media Art at the University of Arts in Berlin and has recently participated in Documenta 12, Shanghai Biennial, and Rotterdam Film Festival.

      Hito Steyerl’s new work is currently in development. The work is co-commissioned by Straat van Sculpturen.

      If I Can’t Dance previously worked with Hito Steyerl in Edition II – Feminist Legacies and Potentials in Contemporary Art Practice (2006–2008). Last year If I Can’t Dance invited Hito Steyerl to tutor the research project Affectionately Yours together with Phil Collins at the Dutch Art Institute/MFA ArtEZ (2009–2010).
