1. The Soliloquy of the Broom is a book by artist Olivier Foulon. It is a transcript of a conversation between Olivier Foulon and Michael Krebber taking place in Cologne on December 8, 2008. Both artists explore the oeuvre of Gustave Courbet in their work and together they discuss their mutual interest and attempt to find a common ground. However, the conversation collapses into itself as the artists lose their grip on the figure of Courbet. The publication follows from the work that Foulon made as part of If I Can't Dance's Edition III – Masquerade (2008–2010), that focused on the concept of masquerade in relation to painting.
