Emily Roysdon produced a limited edition necklace with the hands of a clock, transforming the one who wears it into a kind of sundial. The necklace was presented in the context of Roysdon’s work Uncounted* which she developed within If I Can’t Dance’s Edition V – Appropriation and Dedication programme and was first worn by various protagonists during the Performance Days festival from 27 November to 3 December 2014. The necklace was made in response to If I Can’t Dance’s invitation to its commissioned artists of Edition V – Appropriation and Dedication to produce a piece of merchandise and consider the role of materiality and economy within performance practice.
